Our 150th year celebration continues! Great is God’s Faithfulness!
The weekend of November 4-5, 2017, we recognized long-time members and relatives of founding members. Our longest member on record is Phil Leathead who has been a member since his baptism in May 1923 – 94 years!
The weekend of January 20-21, 2018, we welcomed Rev. Dr. David Erber as guest preacher. David provided a wonderful message on the topic “God Keeps His Promises”.
The following weekend, January 27-28, we celebrated God’s gift of music. A few examples – children from Trinity Lutheran School (TLS) sang, and the TLS Concert Band played. We had music from our adult choir and brass playing a special arrangement of the liturgy, and they performed the concertato of the hymn “Our Fathers’ God in Years Long Gone,” written by former Pastor Dr. W. Harry Krieger! There were other pieces as well. What a wonderful offering of praise and thanksgiving to our God!
Looking Forward—Plan to join us on March 11 when we will be celebrating missions. God has called us to reach out with the Gospel touching our past, present, and future. We will start our morning with a light breakfast in Emma Stowe Hall and watch a video created by JTV about Trinity’s history, as well as highlighting how God has blessed our mission efforts over the years – through Rev. Dr. David Erber’s ministry in Africa, MOST mission trips, and our Lutheran School. Rev. Dr. Roosevelt Gray Jr, director of Black Ministry of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Office of National Missions, will be our guest preacher at a single weekend service at 10:30am. Also on this special day, former Trinity Music Director and renowned organist Brenda Heck will be providing special music 15 minutes ahead of the service, and will be our organist during the service. Don’t miss this special day!
